Positive East is the only charity that provides holistic support to individuals and communities affected by HIV in East London. We need a suitably unique person to make a real difference to the lives of those affected by HIV in East London.
We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and committed individual to join us as a fundraising intern who will project manage fundraising and promotion of Positive East in the run up to World Aids Day (WAD) 2009.
As an intern with us you will have a pivotal role in the success of our WAD fundraising. You will be working closely with the Fundraising Officer to think of creative ways to fundraise for WAD and turning these ideas into reality. Your role will be varied; you might be helping to raise awareness of Positive East through community fundraising or organising fundraising events. It could be that you are writing newsletters, managing volunteers or liaising with local businesses. Either way, this is an excellent opportunity to apply your strong organisation, interpersonal and communication skills.
No previous fundraising experience is required, although we do ask that you have good IT skills. Previous administration skills would be useful but not essential. We are looking for someone who can commit 2/3 days a week to begin with, building up towards full time for WAD in December. We would need a minimum commitment of 4 months.
This is an unpaid position though lunch and travel expenses will be covered.
For more information about the Volunteer Fundraising Intern position please contact Tara Arnold on 020 7791 9328 or 020 7791 9342.
Closing date: 6th July 2009.
Interviews: soon after.
