Community HIV testing at Positive East

Need to find a local HIV test clinic?

Want a free, confidential and fast HIV test in East London?

Positive East has a HIV testing service for East London.

Using a unique and innovative programme of multi-modal campaigns, Positive East are delivering a new service to East London, targeted at the African communities and Gay Communities to help reduce the dramatic levels of late testing of HIV infections.

  • HIV testing is now being undertaken at Positive East centres every Tuesday - no need to make an appointment, just attend during clinic times - for details click here -
  • We have introduced a testing service, enabling callers to get information about local HIV test clinics in a discrete manner, at times convenient to them - for details click here -
  • A supporting website - It's Better to Know - provides information and details, highlighting why it's important to test, why we are targeting these communities and how they can access local services and support organisations across East London - for details click here.

The Bishop of Stepney The Rt Revd Stephen Oliver visited Positive East on Tuesday 17th February 2009, challenged the stigma associated with HIV by taking a test himself.

"A Bishop taking an HIV test might seem strange, but I'm keen to show it's a simple process and to encourage others to come forward for testing. The HIV testing service at Positive East is very welcoming and the testing is free, fast and confidential" Bishop Stephen stated.
