Companies
Why not nominate Positive East as your company's charity of the year?
Charity of the year partnerships are a great way for a company of any size to focus their charitable activities and make a real difference to people affected by HIV.
At Positive East we will help you get the most out of a Charity of the Year partnership including:
- Help with any queries as well as fundraising support
- Inspiring your staff to boost morale and team building
- Press and PR support on a local and national level
We will discuss your objectives and expectations for the partnership at the outset and ensure that the funds raised go towards an engaging and tangible focus, which will motivate employees to raise funds for Positive East.
Most of all, we are here to make sure that everyone involved in the partnership feels supported and motivated. This not only means that they end up raising lots of money for Positive East but that they have a fantastic time doing it.
Support Positive East and help us to enable people living with HIV to live their lives as independently as possible and free from stigma.

Employee fundraising
Supporting a charity through employee fundraising has excellent benefits for both companies and their staff and can help raise some invaluable funds for Positive East:
- Opportunity to motivate staff and develop new skills
- Increased teamwork and loyalty amongst employees
- Imparts a positive atmosphere throughout the organisation
- Projects positive corporate image to staff, clients, suppliers and all stakeholders
Positive East is willing to bring its expertise in fundraising to work in partnership, or offer advice regarding fundraising initiatives. For ideas on employee fundraising, why not check out a few of our fundraising suggestions and see what inspires you, or see if you can come up with better ideas.
If running appeals to you but marathons and fun runs are a bore, why not have a go at a Triathlon?
Instead of a cake-bake, why not have a pie throwing competition! Let your imagination run wild and the fundraising results will hopefully be as spectacular!
Matched Giving
You can encourage your staff to take part in fundraising events and then match the amount they raise. This will create goodwill among your staff and stakeholders while promoting your company as a socially responsible organisation.
Workplace Giving. How does it work?
With payroll giving, employees choose how much they would like to give, and it comes out of their pay before tax. So there is no paperwork, and it costs your employees less to give more to their chosen charities. For example, if you donated £5 to Positive East through payroll giving, it would only actually cost £4 as the donation would then have £1 added to it by the taxman.
Employees
Unsure if your company has payroll giving implemented? Check on Workplacegiving which will be able to tell you if your company has payroll giving set up and it will take you through how to set up a regular donation through your payroll.
Employers
Setting up a payroll giving scheme in your organisation is simple and easy. Payroll giving is the most simple, effective and tax-efficient way for employees to make regular donations to charities of their choice.
Easy and free to set up, it costs virtually nothing to run and makes a huge difference to the work of charities. Additionally, when you set up a scheme your business will receive a Quality Mark in recognition of your commitment to charitable giving. You will also receive a certificate and your business will be entitled to use the Quality Mark logo on company's literature.
With all these benefits it's no wonder that 575,000 employees in the UK already donate through their payroll.
Other benefits
From boosting employee morale and raising your organisation's profile to enhancing community involvement programmes, payroll giving is good for business.
To show their commitment to the scheme, many companies also offer matched giving which effectively doubles employees' gifts, providing further incentives for staff to take part.
Geared for Giving, a campaign to raise awareness to companies and individuals. The aim is to increase payroll givers to one million people through awareness raising and advice on making payroll giving more accessible.
In addition to financial donations, Positive East also relies on its volunteers to help deliver our services to those who need it most. If you have time or skills which we can use, visit our Volunteering pages and help us to make a difference.
