DESCRIPTION:Our monthly lunch group for people living with HIV who either live in any of the East London Boroughs\, or get your HIV care an an East London clinic.  Usually on the first Thursday afternoon of the month\, the January lunch is a week later than usual because of the New Year holidays. \nJoin us for a tasty\, freshly prepared lunch provided by our colleagues from Food Chain. Stay and engage in one of our discussion topics\, hear from guest speakers\, or join in one of our Positive Over 50: Out And About trips to places of interest. DESCRIPTION:The February edition in our series of Wellbeing Matters events which focus on the health and wellbeing matters that people with HIV – particularly people over 50 – have asked to learn more about. These are in-person events\, with an option of joining remotely by Zoom. \nThis time it’s a focus on menopause and HIV\, with guest speaker Sophie Strachan\, an advocate for women living with HIV for 20 years\, and director of the Sophia Forum\, which recently produced a guide to menopause for women living with HIV. \nSome symptoms of the menopause can be very similar to some of the symptoms of HIV\, and during the menopause\, women sometimes worry that their HIV is no longer under control. \nFor more information\, to book a place\, or register to receive the Zoom link contact mina.kakaiya@positiveeast.org.uk

Lord Cashman will lead a conversation exploring Maupin’s life\, work\, and the enduring impact of his stories\, which continue to be a beacon of hope and resistance. \nIn 1978\, Maupin introduced the world to the vibrant life of San Francisco with the publication of the first Tales of the City novel. This groundbreaking series\, spanning ten books\, has gone on to captivate millions with its authentic and insightful portrayals of the LGBTQ+ community across decades. \nThe evening will feature a reading from Maupin’s work\, followed by a discussion.
