SUMMARY:Rainbow Men - Moments of Grace with Bren Gosling
DESCRIPTION:Rainbow Men is our social and support group for gay and bisexual men living with HIV\, including men who have sex with men but don’t identify as gay or bisexual. This group is for you if you are HIV positive and either live in East London or get your HIV care in an East London clinic.  It usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month\, but this day and time may vary especially for visits out\, so its best to check these listing regularly.  There’ll be food served around 6.15\, with the film starting around 6.45 \nThis month we’re excited to welcome Bren Gosling for a showing of the film of his play Moment of Grace\, a play about London’s first AIDS clinic and its famous opening by Princess Diana in 1987. \nMoment of Grace follows three (fictional) characters as they prepare for the Princess’s landmark visit and the impact that the day variously has on them: patient Andrew; Jude\, a nurse on the ward; and Essex fireman Donnie. Some of the stories created for the text were drawn from Gosling’s research of the National HIV Story Trust archive. \nThere’ll be opportunities for a Q & A after the film\, so we anticipate the evening lasting later than its usual 8pm finish. \nIf travel or care costs are a barrier to taking part\, please let us know in advance. \nFor more information\, or to tell us you’re coming\, contact Nick.Maxwell@positiveeast.org.uk

SUMMARY:Together Group: Eating well on a budget
DESCRIPTION:Together is our social and support group for anyone living with HIV. This group is for you if you are HIV positive and either live in East London or get your HIV care in an East London clinic.  It usually meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month\, but this day and time may vary especially for visits out\, so its best to check these listing regularly.  There’ll be food served around 6.15. with the activities beginning around 6.45 \nThis month\, we’re welcoming Lucy Nichols\, one of the dieticians from Food Chain to look at ways to eat well on a budget – as making money stretch after the holiday season can be especially challenging. As always with Together\, bringing your input\, ideas and tips to share with others is an important part of the group\, so do come along with your suggestions. \nAnd for those of us carrying a little extra weight after the festive season\, we’ll also take a look at practical and sensible ways to lose a little weight – and find out what not to do. \nIf travel or care costs are a barrier to taking part\, please let us know in advance. \nFor more information\, or to tell us you’re coming\, contact jack.summerside@positiveeast.org.uk

SUMMARY:U=U community quilt stitching party
DESCRIPTION:U=U Quilt Stitching Parties\n\n\nAfter a year of collecting over 1\,300 photographs to celebrate the U=U message\, we’re ready to start stitching! \nPlease join us for one of our stitching parties\, where we’ll come together to add the finishing touch to the three large quilt panels. \nNo experience is necessary\, and all are welcome to attend.  We’ll provide all the supplies and food (we’ll email to request any dietary requirements). \nEmail ian.montgomery@positiveeast.org.uk if you have any questions or need more info. \nWe hope to see you there! \nPlease register via Outsavvy U=U Quilt Stitching Parties Tickets | Multiple Dates @ Mark Ashley Centre\, London | FREE | OutSavvy \nWhat is the U=U community quilt? \nPositive East will create three 2\,030mm x 2\,030mm (6.5′ x 6.5′) quilt panels\, comprised of thousands of selfies from the international community to help celebrate the powerful message of U=U. \nThe individual selfies\, provided from around the world\, will be printed on fabrics then stitched together\, celebrating each individual and their contribution to the U=U movement. \nOverlayed will be the three\, but simple and powerful letters U = U. From far away these letters will be clearly visible\, however as you approach the quilt panels\, the letters will dissolve unfolding a diverse mosaic of individuals from our community. \nThe project is kindly supported by Arts Council England and the BHIVA Laura Waters Community Fund.

SUMMARY:Rainbow Men: Dealing with cravings
DESCRIPTION:Rainbow Men is our social and support group for gay and bisexual men living with HIV\, including men who have sex with men but don’t identify as gay or bisexual. This group is for you if you are HIV positive and either live in East London or get your HIV care in an East London clinic.  It usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month\, but this day and time may vary especially for visits out\, so its best to check these listing regularly.  There’ll be food served around 6.15\, with the activities starting around 6.45 \nThis month\, we’re looking at cravings – whether that’s for chocolate or sex\, chemsex or chips – and what they mean about how our brains and bodies work. We’ll also learn some practical tips about how to redirect our nervous systems when cravings happen. \nWe’re excited that Dr. Mauricio Alvarez from the Royal London Hospital’s E1 Clinic will be joining us to lead us through it \nIf travel or care costs are a barrier to taking part\, please let us know in advance. \nFor more information\, or to tell us you’re coming\, contact Nick.Maxwell@positiveeast.org.uk

He has extensive experience working with HIV associated conditions\, having previously led the Physiotherapy service at Mildmay UK \nAsk any of the peer support staff about this new service
