DESCRIPTION:Did you know we have a fully equipped spacious gym on our lower ground floor\, with changing rooms\, showers and lockers.  It’s free\, friendly\, fun\, and the perfect way to start your way to a fitter\, healthier you. \nTo use the gym\, you need to be eligible (living or getting your HIV care in East London)\, and have registered to use our services. Also\, it’s essential that you first have an induction session to assess your needs and show you how to use the equipment safely and effectively. \nInduction sessions are usually on the last Thursday of each month\, at 4pm and 5pm.  If you’ve previously had a gym induction but it was a while ago\, or just want a refresher\, you can book for these too. You also need to bring suitable exercise clothing to wear for your induction\, or you won’t be able to have your induction. \nContact our Reception on our main number 020 7791 2855 to book your induction.

DESCRIPTION:Together is our social and support group for anyone living with HIV. This group is for you if you are HIV positive and either live in East London or get your HIV care in an East London clinic.  It usually meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month\, but this day and time may vary especially for visits out\, so its best to check these listing regularly. \nThis month\, as the evenings get longer\, lighter and warmer\, we’re taking an evening visit to the London Blossom Garden at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park\, followed by enjoying some tasty food at a local eating spot \nPlanted in the north of the Park\, the garden has 33 blossom trees\, each representing a London borough\, including the City of London. The trees are arranged in three close circles made up of eight different species of tree. Every spring the garden comes alive with hawthorn\, cherry\, cherry plum\, and crab apple blossom\, creating a stunning scene of colourful blossoms against a backdrop of the vibrant green surrounding parklands. \nIf travel or care costs are a barrier to taking part\, you need to let us know in advance. This group is for you if you are HIV positive and either live in East London or get your HIV care in an East London clinic.  It usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month\, but this day and time may vary especially for visits out\, so its best to check these listing regularly. \nThis month Rainbow Men is thrilled to host Peter Parker\, giving an illustrated talk about his two-volume anthology\, Some Men in London. Drawing upon  letters\, diaries\, novels\, plays\, films\, newspaper articles\, parliamentary debates\, medical journals and  court and police reports\, the books uncover an almost forgotten piece of history and provides a picture of what life was really like for gay men from the end of the Second World War in 1945 to the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967. Although these men faced prosecution in the courts and vilification in parliament and the press\, they showed extraordinary resilience and created a vibrant  queer subculture in the capital\, which was also reflected in the arts. \nA delicious hot meal will be served just after 6pm.
