We’re thrilled to welcome artist Matt David back to Positive East. Matt worked with us last year to deliver a series of self-portrait workshops using a range of materials, though we found most people enjoyed working with pastels. This time, we’re making the most of the last rays of sunshine of the year and using daylight to create works using Cyanotype.
Cyanotype allows you to harness the power of the sun to make detailed prints from virtually any object that casts a shadow: tools, toys, plants, leaves, stones, sand, string, lace, etc. You simply place the object on the sensitized surface and expose it to sunlight. We’ll be exploring ways to represent yourself on paper – as a form of self-portrait – using objects you bring along, or from a selection we’ll have available on the day.
Why not come along earlier for 1pm and join us for the FoodCycle Stepney Green Lunch before the workshop.
If you’re interested, contact us on talktome@positiveeast.org.uk or speak to any of the Health & Wellbeing Team
