Workshop (2 of 5) – HIV Voices: Talking Progress

March 21, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

A series of free creative workshops for those living with HIV.

HIV Voices has paired up with Positive East to launch a new creative writing and performance project: ‘HIV Voices:Talking Progress’

The weekly workshop sessions are co-facilitated by performance poet, trainer and HIV activist Bakita Kasadha who uses writing to explore her experiences of living with HIV.  These workshops will culminate in a celebratory performance event at Positive East on Thursday 19th April – more info coming soon.  You’re welcome to share your work as part of this event but there’s not pressure!

Using the theme of ‘Talking Progress’ as inspiration, the weekly creative writing and drama sessions will explore:

  • Autobiography: expressing our sense of ’self’ and our own personal journeys
  • Fiction: harnessing our potential to dream and imagine
  • Poetry: unlocking the playful power of language
  • Drama games: having fun and getting to know others

No experience needed – just a curious and open mind!  Free refreshments provided.

The workshops are free to attend. There is limited space, so make sure you book your ticket for all six dates in advance. Ideally we ask that you attend all sessions but please get in touch if you have any questions or queries about this.
