Join us for this special edition of our Positive Over 50: Out and About activities, marking HIV Long-Term Survivors Day.
This time, we’re heading to Wanstead Park to enjoy the open space for a gentle stroll in the woods. Spending time in nature is also known as forest bathing.
Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is a Japanese practice of immersing oneself in nature, particularly forests, to promote relaxation and well-being. It involves slowing down, focusing on the senses, and engaging with the environment to reduce stress and improve both physical and mental health.
The afternoon will be very relaxed—you’re welcome to walk as much or as little as you’d like. It’s a chance to unwind, enjoy nature, and spend some time together outside environment.
We’ll be setting off from Positive East after the Positive Over 50: Lunch shortly after 2pm
