Support groups

Our support groups are a great way to get involved with Positive East, increase your wellbeing and make new friends and connections

We currently offer four support groups that meet monthly. Groups often cover specific monthly topics or themes and are delivered by staff and trained volunteers.

Many of the groups also include outings, activities and special events throughout the year.

Positive Over 50

Positive Over 50 is our social and support lunch group for people living with HIV aged 50 and above, usually running on the first Thursday afternoon of each month.

Women's Group

Our Women’s Group is a regular social and support group for women living living with HIV (cis, trans and non binary).  Our Women’s Group usually meet on the 4th Wednesday evening of each month.

Rainbow Men

Rainbow Men is our social and support group for gay and bisexual men living with HIV, including men who have sex with men but don’t identify as gay or bisexual. Rainbow Men usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month.

Together

Together is our social and support group for anyone living with HIV. It usually meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month.

How to get started

What to expect at our groups

We understand meeting new people can be challenging for some. All our groups are friendly and welcoming and remain inclusive. Each group is facilitated by a staff member of Positive East along with volunteers. Your level of participation is up to you, and you can contribute as little or much as you like.

Please email talktome@positiveeast.org.uk if you have any questions or concerns before attending.
