Free Course – Understanding HIV

October 23, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

In 2015, over 88,000 people in the UK received treatment for HIV.  Over 6,000 people were newly diagnosed in this year as well and it is thought this may have increased since.  It is also thought that many people remain undiagnosed in the community.  Many people living with HIV report experiencing discrimination and stigma from the community including from healthcare workers.  Lack of understanding of the diagnosis, prognosis and lifestyle management from the community may contribute to this.

This course will be delivered by both Positive East and Tower Hamlets Recovery College and will explore what is HIV, screening and diagnosis, the lived experience, available treatment options and supports in the community.

If you would like more information about the course, and to get involved, please email Ricky Krokos.
