Open Day – Thriving, not just surviving – Marking HIV Long-Term Survivors Day

June 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Positive East is marking HIV Long-Term Survivors day by offering anyone living with HIV in East London a warm welcome to Stepney Green. You can find out more about our services and facilities. We’ll share some delicious food provided by our friends at The Food Chain, hear from Positive East volunteers and staff, plus some special guest speakers about how to thrive – not just survive – with HIV

You can call in at anytime, and stay for as long or as briefly as you like. Food will be served around 6.15pm

From around 6.45pm we’ll have some fantastic speakers:

  • Winnie Ssanyu Sseruma – Positive East patron and HIV activist – Celebrating long-term survivors, what helps us to survive, and remembering those we  have lost
  • HIV+ volunteers from Positive East – Peer Mentors, Group Support Volunteers, Reception volunteers -How getting involved helps us to thrive
  • Dr. Tristan Barber – HIV Consultant at the Royal Free Hospital.  Looking after your heart, and being an active partner in your health care
  • Garry Brough – Fast Track Cities London – What we want for our future care

HIV Long-Term Survivors Day originated in the USA, and falls on 5th June each year. We’re holding our event the day after to avoid clashing with other events, but also to look toward the future

It’s helpful for us to plan for catering if you let us know you’re intending to come. For more details or to let us know you’re coming, contact sarah.boum-enock@positiveeast.org.uk or call 020 7791 9341
