Green Light is our support group for anyone living with HIV who lives, or gets their HIV treatment in, East London. Offering a safe and supportive environment to help you connect with other people living with HIV, to socialise, have fun and learn and share with each other.
It takes place on the last Wednesday of every other month, alternating with our Women’s Group that is open to any woman (cis or trans) living with HIV who lives in East London, or gets their treatment here.
This time, we’re delighted to welcome Sanjay Kumar from NAZ where he leads their Counselling services. NAZ is a highly valued partner agency of Positive East’s, and has a particular focus on supporting HIV positive South Asians, Muslims, people from the Horn of Africa, Portuguese speakers, Spanish speakers (mainly Latin American), other Africans and Black and dual heritage Caribbeans – offering one-to-one peer support, group support, counselling and welfare advocacy.
There’ll be some changes to the group after this meeting, including a name change. Why not come along and find out more, and bring any ideas you have for the group from April onwards. From April, Green Light will become a new group ‘Together’ and meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
With a social drop-in from 5pm, there’ll also be a tasty hot meal served from around 6.15 for everyone to share and get to know one another better. Our guest speaker will be present from around 7pm.
If travel or care costs are a barrier to taking part, you need to let us know in advance. Support is available to HIV positive people who live in East London (or get their HIV treatment in East London) who have no recourse to public funds, or are experiencing a gap in benefits or income.
