Qigong Exercise – Usually every Wednesday – Not running on 22nd

May 1 @ 3:15 pm - May 29 @ 4:00 pm

Qigong, pronounced “chi gong,” was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being.

We’re delighted that Truus Jansen will be leading our new Qigong Practise sessions from the beginning of May. These will usually be every Wednesday, depending on Truus’s availability.  Truus writes:

“The Baduanjin (translates as 8 pieces of Silk Brocade” are physical stretching movements that stimulate the flow of Qi through the meridians, improving strength and flexibility of the entire body. It is practiced to improve health, and to calm and heal the mind, body and spirit. Qigong can be practised seated or standing, according to your physical capability. Practising Baduanjin allows for the correction of physical and yin yang energy imbalances, and the releasing of emotions and reducing stress. It is known for its simplicity and effectiveness. The practise session will take 30-45 min.”

These are informal sessions, so you don’t currently need to book, although it’s helpful if you can let us know in advance that you intend to come along as the sessions could become very popular.  You’re advised to wear loose comfortable clothing.
